High-quality, modern changing rooms are essential at every level of the game. They must be inclusive, welcoming, and provide the right facilities for players and match officials alike.
Player changing rooms should include: four shower cubicles, a wash hand basin outside the shower area, at least one WC in a cubicle (Grade 1 requires three), a hand-drying facility, heating, ventilation, hot and cold running water, and a medical table.
The minimum clear space required is 18m² for Grades 1–4 and 12m² for Grades 5–6, excluding showers and WCs. Any new build must provide at least 18m².
Match officials also require: separate male and female changing rooms, built to the same high standards. Each should include a shower cubicle, wash hand basin, WC in a cubicle, a hand-drying facility, heating, ventilation, and hot and cold running water.
For Grades 1–4 the clear area must be 6m², and for Grades 5–6 it must be 4m², excluding showers and WCs. New facilities must provide two officials’ rooms, each a minimum of 6m². A bell or buzzer must also be fitted so that officials can signal to both home and away dressing rooms.
