Improving stadiums

The Premier League Stadium Fund provides various grants to help football clubs enhance and improve their stadium facilities for the mutual benefit of players, supporters and match officials. Often, this assists them in meeting The FA’s Stadium Accreditation criteria too, enabling promotion through the pyramid. Funding is available to:

  • Steps 1 to 6 of the Men’s National League System
  • Tiers 1 to 4 of the Women’s Football Pyramid
  • Clubs that are promoted to the English Football League (EFL) for the first time

Our Board of Directors

Our directors oversee the governance of the fund and ensure that all investment is spent wisely to transform matchday experiences throughout the Men's National League System and the Women’s Football Pyramid.  

Clare Sumner - Premier League

Clare Sumner joined the Premier League in January 2024 as Chief Policy and Social Impact Officer. She oversees the Premier League’s portfolio of investment in the wider community and grassroots football together with leading on policy, working with a range of organisations including the Government.

Nick Perchard - Premier League

As Director of Community for the Premier League, Nick Perchard is responsible for the League’s community and wider football strategy and policy, and has spent more than a decade leading their facilities work. Nick’s remit also includes working with football partners on some of the game’s key policy issues, including brain health. 

Andy Ambler - The FA

Became Director of Professional Game Relations at The FA in 2016, following nine years as CEO of Millwall FC. In this newly created strategic role he strengthens relationships with the professional game and develops engagement and collaborative working across the Premier League and English Football League. He previously served on the Football League board.
