Not everyone wants to stand in the rain. Funding is available to provide covered accommodation for supporters on match days, in line with the requirements of your league, or attendances.

Careful consideration should be given to the location of new stands - both seating and standing to ensure that it is accessible to all spectators. The location of the stands should provide a good unobstructed view of the pitch, and therefore not located behind floodlight masts or dugouts, or too close to other buildings or stands. Pitch perimeter barriers may need to be lowered in some instances to provide an unimpeded view.

Consideration should be given to future requirements when installing new stands, on how to achieve future grades required if you were promoted, or needed to provide segregation.

Hardstanding in front of seated stands should include yellow cross-hatching or no standing signs to prevent spectators standing in front of the stand. This hardstanding should also be 1.5m wide.

All stands are to be constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds Sixth Edition (The Green Guide).
